Your Future, Your Choice
Empowering young people to choose, plan, and claim their own future.
CreatU officially launches in South Africa in July 2026. We are currently accepting school bookings and enquiries for the second half of 2026. Watch this space – new resources, services, and tools are being added regularly.

Meet Dr Cecilia Erasmus
Dr Cecilia Erasmus is an HPCSA-Registered Counsellor and SACDA-designated Career Development Practitioner with 18+ years of experience supporting young people’s career development, emotional wellbeing, academic growth, and personal development. She has worked across South African public and private schools – first as an Afrikaans FAL educator, then as a counsellor and career development practitioner – and most recently as a school counsellor at an elite international school in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Cecilia is also a linguist with a PhD in Afrikaans and Dutch, someone who has lectured in Belgium and presented research internationally. She believes – deeply and without apology – that a life well-lived is not a straight line. And that conviction shapes everything she does with young people.
She offers assembly talks and grade-specific workshops for schools, dedicated sessions for educators, and talks and workshops that equip parents to walk this journey confidently alongside their children. Her presentations at school cover self-discovery, personal development, career exploration, and how to future-proof a career in an AI-driven world.
She works with young people aged 12–35 through individual and group sessions – online, in-person, and at schools. Using accredited psychometric assessments and evidence-based tools, she supports students with career development, subject choices, and university applications both locally and internationally. She has placed students at universities across South Africa, the US, the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, and Asia.
Her greatest passion lies in walking alongside young people as they navigate the daily challenges of growing up – helping them discover who they are, what they are good at, and where they are going. It is her purpose to help every young person find theirs.
Beyond CreatU, Cecilia serves as a Director of Aligned, a South African non-profit committed to facilitating life skills & wellness training as well as career guidance for young people in under-resourced communities. It is the same work, extended to those who need it most.
She presents in both English and Afrikaans, bringing a global perspective to every young person she works with. She also wants every young person who walks through CreatU’s door to know: there is no single right path. There is only the path that is authentically, courageously yours.

Meet Carla Erasmus
Carla Erasmus chose early on to learn by doing. Rather than heading straight to university, she spent years saying yes to the world – and came back with a skillset that no single classroom could have given her.
Across 27 countries and counting, Carla has worked as a performer, educator, host, and entertainer – building real skills in communication, crowd management, crisis adaptability, and connecting with people across cultures and age groups. She has served as a Master of Ceremonies for a post-school private study selections roadshow, taught English online to adults in Chile, given singing lessons to students of all ages in Vietnam, performed in professional theatre productions, managed backstage logistics for large-scale shows, served as a trivia and games host on MSC cruise ships, and fronted an international jazz band. She holds an LTCL Musical Theatre Teachers Diploma, a TEFL certification, and certificates in maritime safety – including fire prevention, crowd management, and emergency first aid.
Closer to home, Carla serves as the Child Safety Officer at Aligned, a South African NPO committed to the career guidance of underprivileged children. This work reflects a conviction she carries into everything she does at CreatU: that children deserve environments where they feel genuinely safe, seen, and supported – and that the adults around them have a responsibility to make that possible.
What ties it all together is people. In every role, Carla found herself in front of someone who needed to feel seen, guided, or more confident – and that is exactly what brought her to co-found CreatU. She is now studying psychology, and aims to work with clients on the daily habits that quietly shape every future. Her approach is practical, sincere, and rooted in the belief that small shifts, done consistently, add up to lives people are genuinely proud of.
She also wants every young person who walks through CreatU’s door to know: university is one great path – and it is not the only one. What matters most is that the path you choose is yours.
The Challenge Facing South Africa’s Youth – Why We Do What We Do
60,9% of South African youth aged 15–24 are unemployed
40,6% of South African youth aged 25–34 are unemployed
3,9 million young South Africans aged 15–24 are NEET – not in employment, education, or training
9,5 million South Africans aged 15-35 are NEET – not in employment, education, or training
The numbers are hard to ignore. In South Africa, 60,9% of young people aged 15–24 are unemployed. For those aged 25–34, it is 40,6%. More than four in ten young South Africans aged 15–34 are Not in Employment, Education, or Training at all (45,6%) – that is 9,5 million young people without a clear path forward.
Globally, 260 million young people find themselves in the same position. And with AI and automation reshaping the world of work at a pace we have never seen before, the challenge is only growing.
But the real crisis is not just about jobs. It is about young people who don’t know who they are, what they are good at, or where they are going. Without that foundation, no qualification or opportunity is enough.
This is where CreatU steps in – to walk alongside young people before they get lost, and help them build a life with purpose, direction, and confidence.
What we do
We support and guide young people aged 12–35 in creating their life-path successfully through individual and group sessions – online, in-person, and at schools. By exploring values, setting goals, and establishing habits, young people are empowered to pursue their short and long-term passions and dreams. Through a growth mindset and grit, they are guided to find their career and life’s purpose. Accredited psychometric assessments and evidence-based tools are used to help each young person create the life they envision for themselves.
Support and guidance are also extended to pivotal role-players – including educators and parents – in navigating this journey alongside the youth in their care.
How we support
Schools: Assembly talks and grade-specific workshops cover self-discovery, personal development, and career choice – including how to future-proof a career in an AI-driven world. Separate educator talks and workshops equip staff to support and navigate students through the life decisions that prepare them for the world beyond school.
Parents: Talks and workshops that empower parents to support their children’s future – understanding the careers they are drawn to and how to walk that journey alongside them.
Adolescents: Individual and group support at school, online, and in-person – covering career guidance, life skills, and wellness. Full psychometric assessments and evidence-based tools help young people make confident, informed life-path choices.
Pilot Career Guidance Roadshow
From July 2026, Dr Cecilia and Carla will visit schools across Gauteng, the Western Cape, the Free State, and other provinces, presenting the CreatU Pilot Career Guidance Roadshow. Their vision is simple – to bring specialised, world-class career guidance to all South African learners, not just those with access to expensive private counseling.
Working alongside students at an international school in Hanoi, Vietnam, showed Dr Cecilia first-hand what is possible when young people are genuinely supported in understanding themselves, their options, and their place in the world. She came back to South Africa determined to close that gap.
CreatU offers complimentary introductory visits to schools – including career guidance assemblies, grade-specific workshops, and optional parent evenings. No cost to the school for the first visit.
